You're invited to a very special virtual evening where we'll be immersive in the vast desert, wild corners and adventures of Oman. This evening will all be about taking a deep, immersive dive into Oman and the many different experiences you can have here. To begin the evening, Zahra Al Hadi from the Oman Ministry of Heritage & Tourism will give us a warm welcome and set the scene for what you can expect when visiting the country. Then, we'll hear from explorer Mark Evans about his epic crossing of Rub' al Khali (The Empty Quarter) and the best experiences to experience its undulating dunes for yourself, before local guide Aus Al Marjabi casts our net further and explains the different unique experiences and adventures you can have right across the country.

Wrapping up the evening will be Jonny Bealby from Wild Frontiers, a tour operator which has vast experience in crafting trips to Oman and will explain how they can help bring to life your own adventure to this enigmatic country. The evening, hosted by Wanderlust's founding editor Lyn Hughes, will end with a chance for you to ask our guest speakers any questions you may have.

Zahra Al Hadi: Zahra is an experienced marketing specialist at the Oman Ministry of Heritage & Tourism, with over eight years' of expertise. Her passion lies in promoting Oman in the UK and Ireland, as well as wider Europe, to spread the world and entice visitors to Oman.

Mark Evans: Mark Evans has lived in Oman for 18 years, founding the first Outward Bound school in the Arabic speaking world that now trains more than 5,000 people each year in the mountains and deserts of Oman. He has an intimate knowledge of Oman thanks to a solo 55-day kayak journey along the entire coastline, an 80-day journey on foot and by camel from south to north, and eight years ago, with two Omani companions Mark became the first person in 85 years to retrace the first ever crossing of the Empty Quarter-the largest sand desert on earth, a journey of 49 days.

Aus Al Marjabi: Meet Aus, an intrepid guide with local Omani company Milestone Adventures. From skiing down alpine slopes to abseiling sheer cliffs, delving into deep caves, exploring wadis and diving among myriad sea life, it's safe to say Aus has a thirst for adventure he's keen to share with you. He believes that once you step foot in Oman, it won't be long before you discover its diverse landscapes and hidden treasures.

Jonny Bealby: Rock singer, writer and travel entrepreneur, Jonny Bealby set up Wild Frontiers, the specialist award-winning tour operator, 25 years ago. As a writer and traveller, Jonny has visited more than 100 countries and, in addition to his books, has had articles featured in a variety of publications including the Daily Telegraph, The Times, Observer and Wanderlust. He has lectured to the Royal Geographical Society on a number of occasions in both London and Hong Kong.

Lyn Hughes: Lyn is the founding editor of Wanderlust, an award-winning writer and named as one of the ‘50 Most Influential People in Travel’ by The Times. Lyn’s article In Thesiger’s Tracks won Top Article on Oman at World Travel Market in 2014.
