Launched in 1996, the Wanderlust Travel Photo of the Year competition is the UK's most prestigious annual travel photography award, open to amateur and professional photographers. The awards attract over 6,000 entries yearly, and are judged by a world-class panel of professional photographers and travel experts. Each year the winners pick up a superb photographic assignment to a sponsoring destination, and have their photos published in Wanderlust magazine.
The 2008 competition is now closed. The 2009 competition will open for entries on 16 July 2009.
The 2008 winners were announced at a special ceremony at the Destinations travel show in London.
