Travelling brings out the curious in all of us. When we set out on a journey, we don't want to see the same things we lay eyes on every day at home – and there's a weird, weird world out there to pique our curiousity.
Weird World, published in September by Wanderlust and Bradt, brings together the planet's most unusual people, animals, foods and experiences – a compendium of odd images and true tales told by real travellers, covering nearly 100 countries around the globe.
All of the people who submitted a photo for inclusion in the book were entered into a draw to win Powermonkey goodies, courtesy of Powertraveller. Then, from the people whose photos were used in the finished book, we picked two people to win places on Travellers' Tales weekend courses, one overseas and one in London.
The winners are:
Travellers' Tales overseas photography course
Anthony Robson
Travellers' Tales London photography course
Stuart Forster
Powermonkey goodies
Carlota Girassol
Hazel Guha
Deborah Mulrooney
Cathy Aitken
Chris Hopkinson
In addition, all of the people whose photos were used in the book will receive a copy when it's published in September. As so many photographers' images have been included, there simply isn't time to contact you all. Please don't contact us to ask if your photo(s) has been included. If you receive a copy of the book it has, if you don't unfortunately it hasn't. If you want to buy a copy the book will be on sale in the UK, US and Australia.
The exact publication date will be confirmed here nearer the time.
Thanks to everyone who entered. We hope you like the book as much as enjoyed putting it together.
